The Obstacles

Updated: May 3, 2018

Just when things were going right, everything came crumbling down.

Problem arose when Mr Charles came to critique our work during the inspection session. Because the mechanism was to pull back the rubber band in order to make it project, he didn’t want the hand to be out of the toy as it will lose the immersive experience. He wanted us to find a way to make it work without having the person to actively pull it or for the hand to be out of the box. Instead, his idea was for it to act like a gun, so that it would shoot continuously.

Sadly, not long after the inspection session, the rubber band that acted as our sling broke into two. We were devastated and immediately began thinking of alternatives of a rubber band. This led us to our idea of making a gun, just as Mr Charles advised. The problem that came with it was the difficulty of making one. We searched through many guides on youtube and articles about the basic glock of a gun, tutorials on how to make one etc. To our dismay, most of the guides used materials that needed to be bought, or materials that weren’t even recyclable in the first place.

We’re currently very short on time, and I honestly fear for the worse.
