The idea that was the light in the darkness.
Stuck in between a crossbow and a gun, we finalised our decision by choosing the gun. That’s because we realised that if we implemented the crossbow mechanism, it would involve the person to actively pull the trigger out, which goes against what Mr Charles’ advice. With a gun, however, we decided that instead of making the complete format of a gun we would use a somewhat similar mechanism of a gun and put it in the box itself. To have a better understanding please refer to the drawing illustrated below.
We then decided to cover the top half with a thin wooden panel, and would be painted in Cyborg’s pattern. We added a small pipe that would later act as a magazine where it will store ammunition in. The ammunition will then fall into a small enclosed tunnel where a stopper will prevent it from moving too much. But because we were running out of time, we decided to remove the trigger/stopper and decided to use the pvc tube as our main mechanism.
Similar to our first idea, the individual would need to pull the pvc tube and release it in order to project the ball out of the arm. Two thick rubber bands will be connected to the sides of the pvc tube which will make its projection strong and elastic.
